5th grade students participated in 3 days of team building activities the first week of this school year. They created a ME quilt the first day. Each block was created using the attributes of an individual student. The second day, students played a geography game after reading "Oh The Places You Will Go" by Dr. Seuss. The team building activities came to a close on Friday with Spaghetti Towers. Students designed towers to be built out of joiners(marshmallows) and members(spaghetti). The towers had to support the weight of at least one visitor(jumbo marshmallow) for 30 seconds. The competition also included height with each group building their tower as tall as possible and still fulfilling the other parameters. Students used budgeting and inspection skills to purchase the materials they needed for building the structure from "Wilson Hardware".
