The Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Engineering student societies sent their best and brightest to introduce our 3rd-5th graders to the amazing world that is STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Twenty-two students and faculty came together to devise experiments and demonstrations for our students to learn from and enjoy at the same time.  Some of the experiments included making bouncy balls, making homemade thermometers, exploding film canisters, floating ink, glue fossils, constructing a free-standing building out of toothpicks and jelly beans, "seeing" sound, and watching a Van de Graaff generator fling pie plates -- just to name a few.  The students had an amazing time and are looking forward to a return of this group next year!
